Generosity Benefits Low Income Consumers
Ocean Mental Health Services received a grant $6,000 from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank..  This grant is to assist with the needs of the Supportive Housing Program.  Steve Pellegrinelli, Vice President of TD Bank, presented a check to Jim Cooney, CEO of Ocean Mental Health Services.

The Supportive Housing Program works with individuals that have a mental illness and are able to live independently in the community.   The program provides support to each consumer so that they can transition to independent living, and successfully maintain their housing, as they continue to address their personal recovery and wellness.  The program empowers consumers to integrate through volunteerism, employment and contribution back to the community.  Services include assistance with rent subsidy applications, case management, vocational and prevocational counseling, and assistance with housing maintenance.  In addition, Supportive Housing staff can act as a liaison between the consumer and landlord, helping to resolve issues and create a greater mutual understanding.

According to Mr. Cooney, “The TD Charitable Foundation has been an important partner as we at Ocean Mental Health continue to achieve our goals and grow our agency to meet the needs of Ocean County.  We have such great consumers that deserve the best.  When we get a donation like this it really makes a difference.”  He continued “It will truly make our consumers feel important that the Foundation chose to them to support.”
